Nasventures Lighting for OptometryHe lectures in lighting at several UK universities to students taking degree courses in Optometry. He also lectures to students from Singapore Polytechnic taking the Optometry degree course in collaboration with the University of Manchester. He became an Examiner for the College of Optometrists (UK) in 1999 in the Occupational Optometry module of the PQEs. Additionally he lectured to students preparing for the Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQEs) and was extensively involved in refresher courses and mock examinations for commercial organisations and academic institutions. Between 2001 and 2005 he was a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Optometry in Practice with responsibility for Environmental Optometry (including lighting). Since 2005 he has represented The UK College of Optometrists on CIE (UK). CIE is the Commission Internationale de l´Eclairage – the world authority on lighting. In 2007 he individually developed ‘Guidance for the Lighting in Optometric Practices’ – currently available through the UK College of Optometrists.
